My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I teach my students reading comprehension every semester, but showing them how to dissect words, and how languages are constructed. By understanding the origins of words, my students develop reading comprehension.

I am a fan of the Socratic method of teaching, where students are led to an understanding of the material through a series of questions designed to help them think their own way to the answer.
I have significant experience teaching and tutoring over the past 15 years, from the time I began college and was a lab assistant during chemistry labs, through supporting myself through college by tutoring, and finally teaching numerous college and university courses over the last 10 years. My teaching style is on hands on and using lots praise for hard work. I enjoy working with others and seeing them succee. For the visual learner, they need to see things written down for it to stay with you. For the auditory learner, they hear sounds distinctly and can easily remember a song tune or lyrics; and for the kinesthetic learner, they like to learn by moving and possibly acting out things.
