My comments on tutoring World History : Taught high school world history.

Math Teacher prior to joining the army. I scored a 98 on the ASVAB. Last assignment was a recruiting company commander for the US Army. Current owner of ASVAB tutoring business called Academic Strong LLC. I have spent the last 2 years putting people in the Army. I have seen many good applicants come in to join and fall only a little short of the ASVAB score needed. As a prior Math teacher I know what it takes to get you the score you need to join.

Teaching to me is about how to engage the student. The material that is prepared for daily lessons can be nothing more than just words to some students. The instructor must become one with the student and understand them on their level. Once you can see eye to eye with your students, then you can begin to help them learn and grow. I learn right along with my students, gaining interpersonal skills from every student. The student's feedback and honesty helps me as an instructor meet the needs of future students. Students are the backbone of the future and their strength comes from how you teach them to see themselves in the world making a difference. As a Webster University graduate, I pursued advanced degrees (Master of Arts) in the fields of HR Management and HR Training and Development. I also attained a BS in Business Administration at Spalding University. I have used the Training and Development degree to a large extent. A Little Bit About Me...

I've worked with children in various educational and tutorial capacities over the past years and have a firm belief that every child’s capabilities as a student are connected to the capability of the teacher/tutor to understand the needs of the individual student. I have a strong belief that with patience, persistence and positive reinforcement that every child can do their best.
I have six years experience working with children of all ages in an educational capacity. I worked as a literacy tutor and I taught autistic pre-schoolers in the public school system. I also recently returned from teaching English (ESL conversation, reading and comprehension, writing and grammar) in South Korea where I worked and lived for eighteen months. I am now currently working as a substitute teacher in the public school system teaching all ages.
