My comments on tutoring Literature : My master's degree in English included coursework on literature; I have an M.A. from George Mason and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. Both English programs emphasized literary content.

My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.

I studied Languages for four years at University. I was about to get a degree in English and Portuguese when I moved to the US. I taught for one year. I worked in 3 different schools, in all of them, the subject was English. I have no experience teaching Portuguese outside of college, but I am planning to find students to change that. My comments on tutoring Literature : Able to tutor/teach all elements in Literature, whether English or American.

I have over of 30 years of progressive experience in tutoring young children in the elementary years of education in all subject matter areas. My specialty is literacy and reading, but I am also adept in teaching all of the math curricula as well. I also firmly believe that teaching organizational skills and proper research methodologies are very important for the classroom today--and every child needs these skills in order to excel in the classroom and survive.
