My personal style of learning is to learn by doing. I get my students involved in any process and get them to actually do the work so they learn it from experience, not just reading about it and taking for granted they know what is going on. My comments on tutoring Writing : I have a MA in English and I have taught college level composition (English 101 and 102). I currently teach high school Advanced English.

I guide the student to his or her understanding of the material. I do not feed information. I ask that the student come to their own conclusions.
I have a BA in English and Creative Writing. I received a MA in English Literature in 2005. I began my teaching career at Calhoun teaching English Composition 101 and 102. A Little Bit About Me...

At Birmingham-Southern College, I was the News Editor for the college newspaper for two years. In addition, I have a minor in Journalism. I love to write and I feel that this is one of my strong points. I also tutor two young girls every Wednesday afternoon at Girls, Inc. of Central Alabama. I help them with everything from writing, to reading, to math and history. I am also working on my Masters Degree and will graduate with a Masters Degree in Counseling in 2011.
