Versatile Hands-on Tutor for all Age ranges

Throughout my academic career, I have done in-class tutoring in exchange for credit. I have also helped my family members, neighbors, and friends to study, complete homework, and even do reports. My range of subjects is very versatile, anything from Oceanography, to Intercultural Communications, to Culinary Arts, and even 3D sculpture and design. Of course outside of these elective type courses, I have a 3.7 GPA in my general education, including Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. I have 6 years of substitute teaching experience in the Washoe County School District in Nevada, as well as at a charter school. Substitute teaching has allowed me to work with children from preschool to grade 12, in all subjects. I have worked twice as a preschool teacher, once at the E.L. Cord Child Care Center at TMCC in Reno, and again at His Kids Preschool, using A Beka Book curriculum to teach 2-4 year olds. Unfortunately, many individuals are given labels, especially regarding their learning capacity, and once that belief system is in place, the expectations are often lowered and self-esteem suffers. Not only working with children, but teaching them has always been a passion of mine.
