Being a college graduate has allowed me to pursue my dream of helping and working with children. I have earned a BS in Human Services with a concentration in Psychology, and am currently enrolled in a Master's program for Community Mental Health Counseling. My teaching philosophy centers first, and foremost, on the task at hand: educating every student I service. It appears that for the sake of the school’s overall achievement level on state tests, students that require critical and extensive attention are being ignored for lack of time. Because it is assumed that these students will not pass the test regardless of the amount of effort invested in them, very little is invested in them and they are left far behind. These students will not only fail the test, but will establish the concept that no cares one-way or the other. I believe every student has a talent for something. I beleive children learn hands on and it is an apporach to find what technique works for each child. I am patient, easy-going, get along well with others and with my educational background be a great candidate for this position. I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I have since taught preschool and substitute taught for several years. I also worked at a theraputic staff support worker for behavorial children.
