I have always enjoyed English and Writing. I have kept a journal since I was in the 1st grade. I scored very high in these areas on my ACT's, as well as in all of my high school and college classes. I am enthusiastic, kind, positive and approachable. I passed my state boards on the first try because I feel I have excellent study skills. I enjoy working with people and find joy in helping others. I was a substitute teacher for a short period of time before taking a job as a counselor in 2004. I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I have worked quite a lot with elementary school children, whether it be in or outside of work. I have done independent tutor work, mainly in the fields of Art and Language Arts.
