Facilitator Teaching Style: Students discuss with me about the basic understanding, concepts, and framework of essays and papers and then do one attempt. We then review and analyze each paragraph for grammar and general cohesiveness and make necessary improvements. I am a senior at the University of Tennessee and am majoring in Architecture. Coming from a background of advanced English classes at Oak Ridge High school, writing and composition is my strong suit. I have tutored an architecture student who was taking a writing intensive essay course on "Theory of Architecture" and helped her sharply improve her weekly grades on papers. Also, during my freshman year in college, my summer reading essay was chosen as one of the top out of thousands of incoming freshmen. I enjoy composing interesting and well formatted papers, no matter if they are research papers or creative writing papers.

I am a graduate of Bryan College with a degree in Music Education, having taken many education classes and completed a semester of student teaching at the elementary and high school level in Rhea County schools. My prior experience in teaching comes from over 5 years of teaching piano lessons to beginning through advanced students from age 4-adult. While at Bryan, I was a tutor for music theory students as well as assisted and edited English and literature papers and essays. I have a great love of teaching and guiding young people in their academic studies. My approach to teaching or tutoring is open and involves as much personal encouragement as I can. I believe it is essential for the student to have a desire to learn in order for retainable education and it is essential for the teacher/tutor to encourage this desire as much as possible through teaching practices and activities.
