My style of teaching is one that strives to bring an overall understanding of the importance and relevance of the subject at hand. I believe children, as well as all people, learn much better and have much greater retention when they understand the bigger picture involved and understand why it is important to learn the subject at hand. I believe in relating the topics to something the pupil can understand and therefore grasp. My experience as a teacher and instructor has been centered around my experience as a musician. Learning how to play and read music drastically helped me in school in all of my other subject areas. Growing up with more than five teachers in my family, I have always had a deep understanding of the importance of education and a drive to teach others. I recieved my Bachelor's in English from the University of Southern Indiana with the intention of completing a Masters and becomming an instructor at the college level.
