Worked for Ross Stores in Gainesville area for close to three years dealt with customers and staff as the Store Manager. My priorities were training, hiring, and increasing sales. Ultimately, responsbile for entire store and entire staff. Worked for Linens-n-Things in Gainesville as a Merchandise Manager. Performed many different tasks however main duties were to train new employees, hard lines, and backroom. Although I primarily caught art during my 17 year career, I also was interested in ways to help students learn reading skills. I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children.
