A Little Bit About Me...

I completed my masters degree in an accelerated program. This required more credit hours in a shorter time, while working in the field of study. I have worked in many different schools and settings where the abilities range from gifted education to special education. I have conducted case studies, learning profiles, behavior plans, and other studies that require individual attention. I have tutored students in Reading, English, Math, and the Arts. During my undergraduate work my content specialty was English Language Arts.
Since I am fairly fresh to the market, I have learned many of the newer teaching strategies that benefit a wide array of students. During my past three years at St. John Fisher College I have been actively engaged in the chemistry department. I have been exposed to various teaching types, one being active learning within a group. This has allowed me to develop teaching skills by explaining my ideas on the subject to my group, while learning the material at the same time. Also, for the past two years I have been an individual tutor for students taking introduction to chemistry.
