My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I taught developmental math and college math at two year colleges. As a test prep coach, I tutor math on a daily basis. This almost always involves some degree of pre-Algebra as students often need a review of the basics before moving on to more difficult mathematical concepts. I'm great at explaining basic math concepts in multiple ways, so students can fully grasp those concepts.

I am a tutor and test prep coach. I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I prepare students for the ACT and Praxis core and content exams, including the Praxis core (math, reading, and writing), Praxis 5018 (elementary education content knowledge), Praxis 5169 (middle school math), and Praxis 5001 (elementary education multiple subjects). I have been educating students for more than 20 years, teaching and tutoring at two and four year colleges and universities as well as offering test prep courses and one on one coaching. I also tutor offer subject tutoring for middle and high school students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned both an AS in Science and Mathematics as well as completed all requirements for my BA in business administration with a concentration in accounting. I have volunteered at an elementary school tutoring while I was in high school. I have also tutored individuals in college level material on a private basis for compensation. My primary strength is mathematics although I am quite skilled in English as well.
I have always possessed a love of helping others to learn. It brings me great joy to witness when an individual grasps a concept which they have been having difficulty with. I tend to use a demonstrator style of teaching by first working through a problem slowly while asking the student questions to ensure that they understand what I am doing. Then I help them work through similar problems while providing help until they fully grasp a concept.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. In the after school program and the student teaching experience I helped students with all school subjects including english, math, science, social studies and reading.
I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. As a teacher I use a hands-on approach to give the students a realistic approach to learning. All students can learn and as a teacher I feel it is my job to bring the best out of any child. I love children and I long to make a difference in each ones lives.
