I like to cover the basics right off the bat, even if they may be familiar with them and then focus on whichever areas are most troubling for the student.
I began studying french in the 9th grade, became President of my high school's French Club my senior year, and then attended the University of PIttsburgh at Johnstown Majoring in Creative Writing while working on my French certification. I have 40 credits and a 3.0 but am no longer able to afford classes there.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a private tutor, I give lessons to students whose ages range from thirteen to adult, and whose level varies from beginner to advanced. I teach mostly conversational, and as we progress, I introduce basic grammar. Those who are already taking French in school or in college and need to come up to speed on their current curriculum can also benefit from my tutoring. I have noticed a couple things in my years tutoring people in math. I have noticed that many people have trouble with the fundamental concepts of fractions, decimals, order of operations, and adding/subtracting positive and negative numbers. If a student does not have these concepts together much of the 'higher level' mathematics can seem a blur and highly confusing. I have also noticed that students like real world or relevant examples when learning a new math concept. I like to find out what my student is into and tailor problems to things that affect their every day life. Practical real world examples can significantly increase a students retainment of concepts. I also make it a point to keep the learning environment positive and upbeat.
