A Little Bit About Me...

I'm am a current college student at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I graduated from Malcolm High School with high honors (3.948 GPA) and I currently have a 3.6 GPA (I've found college is a little harder than high school). I received only 5 B+'s in my high school career and the rest were A's. I was on the honor role my entire high school career. I participated in choir, band, cheer/dance, and drama and was in National Honors Society. I received many awards for academics and my extra curricular activities.

Currently completing a double major (english/psychology) at the University level. I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class with Honors/AP credit. I have been a strong student all through out my educational career with a passion for learning and teaching others. I have previous experience tutoring in both English, ESL, and Math, working with students K-12 and some college level.
I prefer to let my tutoring sessions to be student led. What that means is that rather than treating the sessions like a teacher-student interaction, I let the student take responsibility for the work they want to improve. When I was 5 years old I learned sign Language, I had a classmate who was deaf and I fell in love with the language. I went to the University of Nebrasaka-Lincoln majored in Speech Pathology and took a few sign language classes. I started interpreting in 2009 in a small town in Kimball Nebraska. Teacher looking to help students learn to love math!

I feel that it is important to relate to students and make the learning experience about what they need. I like to get to know a student on a personal level so that I can better learn what's best for them as a studuent.
