Been in the teacher preparation program at Nevada State College for about 3 years now, started off in Step-Up program my Junior year of high school, have done some field observation at many schools, and have had to deal with one on one tutoring during the time I was there along with many fellow class mates. In my classes at NSC we have different preparation classes that are preparing us for tasks such as tutoring and handling difficult tasks such as helping students that aren't of the English language to learn in their own way the different techniques that we use.
I am more of the Cooperative learning teaching kind of instructor, I rather have students work together to get something right, rather then them do it alone, it's either paired up work or in groups or working with me.

I have a Ph.D. in Political Science/ International Relations from the University of Washington in Seattle (1995). Plus I have extensive experience teaching both at the high school and university level. This experience includes institutions in Haiti, Mexico and the United States. I am 100% fluent in Spanish and was born in Panama (also a US citizen). After teaching on military bases in Japan and South Korea on and off for the past five years, I need to be in the United States for family reasons, in Nevada. Creating Independent Learners

My experience dates back to when I was in high school in the early 80's tutoring students and family members. I've also taught classes on Management of Aggressive Behavior / Appled Non-Violence to mental health professionals throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding communities. I also worked as teacher assistant in the mental health setting working with special needs students. I've worked as a Literacy Tutor at CSN in which I developed and implemented lesson plans for a class of eleven students at the middle school .
