A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Liberal Arts degree. This enabled me to work at JCPenney, working my way up the ladder. I ended that career as a Department Manager/Merchandiser supervising up to 25 people. I continued my education at Eastern Washington University earning a teaching credential and did my student teaching in the 2nd grade. Since then I was a substitute teacher; taking on any task, then eventually working in my own classroom teaching 3-6 grade. More About This Tutor...

I enjoy teaching all age groups. I especially like working with High School students.Initially, they can be quite a challenge to work with, but once they are engaged they are fully immersed in the topic! I like to be creative and interactive! I was a difficult High School student so I can relate to many that get bored with some topics. I really like to use transactional teaching methods. I introduce a subject and have discussions about the material rather than strictly lecturing.I like to learn what the student can teach me after assigned a reading. Have them go in the front of the room and explain a portion of the reading. It also helps them develop confidence in their public speaking.
As an undergraduate student at Central Washington University, I was self motivated and involved in various activities. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Sociology and BA in Law and Justice. ... read more
