I am a special education teacher and have worked with a wide range of students with various abilities as well as disabilities: mental retardation, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, and autism. I remediate students with and without disabilities who have done poorly on SOL tests as well as struggling readers. I have taught all subjects at the middle school level and am highly qualified to teach English and math as based on No Child Left Behind (NCLB). I have tutored for 2 years in the afternoons in all subjects, but main concentration being in middle school English and math.
I believe that all children can learn but they don't all learn the same way. It is my job as the teacher to make the lessons interesting and present them in such a way that the student will understand what is being taught.
