I have been an educator for 28 years, so obviously, I love what I do! My teaching style is to make each of my students understand the "why" of the siutaion. If a person(child or adult) understands why something is supposed to happen, then often the pieces will fall into place, especially in the math arena. I believe that all students can learn. We do not all learn to speak, read and write languages in the same way. Some of us learn by mostly hearing or saying; some of us learn by mostly seeing and looking; and some of us learn by mostly doing, using touch and moving parts of our bodies or things. I use all three ways to learn when helping others improve their English. I use hearing, seeing and doing. I check what students learn in one way with the other two ways of learning. There is a name for this kind of teaching. It is called the neuro-linguistic approach to teaching English.
