I have been a substitute teacher for the last 6 years. I have taught PreK-12th grade in all subjects. I have been tutoring kids for 2 years and have really enjoyed it. I am working on a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education. I have been coaching kids since I have been out of high school. As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have earned a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will pursue a PhD in Family Life Education and Consultation starting during the 2009-2010 school year. I have written a lot of essays and read numerous research papers. For over a year and a half, I have tutored students in English, psychology, mathematics and sciences. I have worked with children of varying ages since 1982. I am most passionate about Language Arts, History and Science. During my senior year in college, I tutored individual students in Science and I worked one-on-one with 4th graders helping them with Math skills. My classroom experiences include 3rd and 6th Grades. My 3rd Grade room in California had 32 students - 60% of whom were at kindergarten level English speaking / reading / writing. Many of their parents were non-English.
