My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I can help in all sorts of beginning algebra concepts such as: algebraic expressions, solving basic and multi-step equations, graphing linear equations, solving and graphing inequalities, factoring polynomials, and more.

I worked for one year at the TLC, or Teaching Learning Center, where upper classmen would tutor other students taking courses they had already taken and done quite well in. I tutored mostly computer courses (programming, excel, etc), but there were also days when I was asked to tutor Calculus.
I like to start by encouraging the student to demonstrate what they know, and then give them a little nudge of guidance when they come to something that confuses them. A Little Bit About Me...

I really like to teach but only topics I really believe in. I am not a good salesperson for the same reason, if I don't believe in something you can see right through me. I have seen too many adults and kids taught the steps to something, do "A" then do "B" then do "C". This is fine until it is required that we need to do A,B,F or B,A,C. Then this poor person is left with no other angle. I am very creative and resourceful teacher, if I can teach an understanding of what "A" does, why we do "A", and when to do "A", then when A,B,F is needed the person has skills to think their way through it. I am also probably a "pusher" of people learning skills, I believe most people are more capable than they think they are.

Most children who are deaf have a delay in language learning. A deaf child who uses sign language, English is not their first language.
