My goal is really for the person I am tutoring to fully understand the information they are trying to learn. In this way, they can understand the basics and build upon that. I believe the best way to approach a new student is to find out their weaknesses and strengths. Then, really put some hard work into making their weak points better and making their strong points the best they can be. I think that it is best for a student to know how to do their work with AND without a calculator for full understanding in mathematics.
