Some of my most rewarding times in life have been those when I help a student understand a concept that has bewildered him. I am usually able to find a unique way to make the student think about his learning. I try to teach to mastery. I don't believe efficient learning takes place in any discipline if one hasn't mastered some of the basic principles. I encourage exploration of alternative methods for problem solving. I enjoy a good reputation with students because they understand that I care that they actually master their own education. I am extremely patient and friendly. As a Special Education teacher, my belief in individualized learning plans is well-established. I have taught gifted to mentally handicapped and believe all children can learn. I am very patient and like to find creative ways of teaching so that children not only learn, but learn to enjoy the process. I have many former students that have kept in contact with me through the years and have expressed their appreciation of my willingness to go the extra mile for them.
I have 24 years of teaching experience from pre-school to university. I am TEFL certified and have taught 7 years overseas. I have a BA in Home Economcis and an MA and Teacher Certification in Special Education (FL, current, former CO certification). I have 15+ years of Managerial experience.
