A Little Bit About Me...

The beginning of everything, I've got three younger sisters and there has always been a fair amount of helping out where they're concerned. I've babysat since I was twelve and for the past few years I've worked as a nanny. A Little Bit About Me...

I have successfully completed a Beacon tutor course in preparation for individual and group tutor sessions. I led a semester long Beacon tutoring supplement course in Organic Chemistry that supported 20 junior college students. I have effectively tutored/mentored a number of high school students in general education coursework, organizational skills, and in preparation for exit examinations. I have conducted community based math group sessions for junior high and high school students. Finally, I have supported 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students in math and reading comprehension. I personally create and provide worksheets and additional materials to support students' mastery of coursework. Students under my mentorship have achieved at least a 40% increase on grade reports and above average scores on examinations.

Sociology is one of my top subjects!

Many of my previous jobs have surrounded helping others. Whether that was through tutoring and teaching or customer service. Growing up I also tutored my younger sister and my cousin who has a learning disability. I have always been passionate about helping others, especially through education. As a recent graduate from the University of California Riverside, I have earned a bachelors of science degree from the institution. During my time at UCR I developed a passion for the sciences which was taught by dedicated professors who served as my mentors. After being exposed to many professors who have a passion for teaching, I want to also give back to the community in this way.
I really like working with all sorts of people. There is no satisfaction greater than when I can see the spark in a person's eye when they comprehend materials they had not before.
