A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that students need guidance and structure in order to reach their highest potential. In the classroom, instruction can only be differentiated so much. Individual tutoring would allow me the chance to really meet a student at their level and understand their learning style.

I have had a very large variety of teaching experiences. During my teaching practicums at Indiana State University, I was able to teach a number of subjects. I taught in the areas of science, math, social studies, and English. I was able to teach math and social studies to a gifted and talented 2nd grade classroom. I was able to assist in all areas in a mild to moderately disabled classroom. I was able to teach English at the high school level to mild to moderately disabled students. I was able to teach science to 1st and 6th grade students. I was able to work as a reading specialist to students grades K-1st. I began college as an engineering major, so I have background in advanced mathematics and physics. I went on to change my major to psychology where I gained knowlege of social and behavioral sciences, as well as research technologies and statistical analysis. Since graduating college with a B.A. in psychology, I have worked as a psychology researcher, accounting assistant, and in 3 different roles for an international pharmaceutical company. Through my job experience, I have gained knowledge in different business disciplines and areas such as Lean/Six Sigma and Supply Chain/Logistics planning.
I love teaching all ages and skill levels. I adjust my teaching style to the individual - some people are visual learners or oral learners or hands-on learners. I teach by example and try to encourage my students to understand "why" rather than just "how."
