A Little Bit About Me...

While working on my BS in Psychology I worked part time as a respite provider for children with brain, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Though I focused more on teaching social skills, I learned first hand that each child has a different way of learning and that not just one style is effective, especially for any special needs child. In addition to remaining patient throughout the learning process, I would strive to find whatever style of learning is most successful with each child's needs.
I have always enjoyed working with children and knew I would want a career working with kids to help enhance their futures. I graduated with a BS in history in 1996. After nearly seven years working for a large communications corporation I returned to college to get my teaching credentials. I completed a years student teaching and have taught middle school and high school at a local private school.
