I am a licensed educational interpreter. I sign SEE.

I am a licensed educational interpreter for hearing impaired children. I have been working in the schools for over 24 years. I have worked with children pre-school through senior in high school. I was with one student for 10 years and he graduated with a 3.83 grade point average. I started with him in 3rd grade and was with him until he graduated.
I do signing exact english because I feel students need proper grammar and sentence structure for a good foundation in their education. They need to be able to write a paper in english order just like their hearing peers. I love teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

I am experienced in teaching. I have worked within the public school systems as a substitute teacher and as a permanent employee. In addition, I have taught GED classes to adults; and tutored elementary and high school students. I am nearly completed with my Master of Science degree, and I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.
I am passionate when it comes to teaching. I conduct my lessons with the understanding that every child is an individual. Therefore, they each have their own learning pace and preferences. The first tutoring session, I set aside, to learn more about the child and to conduct an assessment which will help me in determining that child's learning patterns. In addition, I believe in meeting with the parents weekly to discuss their child's progress and to offer advice on how they can help aid their child in their academic succes ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned that every student has different needs and abilities; therefore, they need different learning avenues. My job as a teacher is to help each child find his/her way of learning, so that he/she may be successful in lifelong learning. I give constant feedback for my students, and I like to collaborate with them to get their opinion on topics. I am a patient, dedicated, and caring person.
