I have a great deal of experience in caring for children and adolescents inlcuing those with mental and behavioral disorders. that experience stems from work with the Sheriff's department to providing afterschool care for children where part of the job is to assist in school work. Having assisted with homeschooling my brother for the last five years, I have extensive experience in tutoring. I have provided tutoring services in a wide variety of high school level classes ranging from English to mathematics to science. Moreover, I have provided tutoring services to university students in college level algebra, writing, and speech courses.
Everybody learns differently, and I vary my teaching style to meet the individual learning needs of the person whom I am tutoring. One major constant of my teaching style, though, is that I heavily emphasize repetition in one manner or another.

As a mother of three teenagers with distinctly different personalities and learning styles, I approach teaching in customized ways that help them open up rather than close down when faced with academic obstacles. I have refined that approach when working with other students, as well.
