A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style involves the student not only in the curriculum but also in the world around them. I enjoy helping students to relate what they have learned to outside the classroom. For example when teaching about a significant event in history, I challenge the student to think about how they would have thought about it in the past and how they can relate it to current events. I believe that every student has the capability to achieve great things both academically and for their community if given positive encouragement and an opportunity to encounter new ideas.

As I graduated with an honors bachelor’s degree in Biology, I started working at my university as an academic tutor. Based on the performance of my students, I was further promoted to the “Lead Science Tutor” position where I could share teaching techniques and train incoming tutors as well. I had always been interested in teaching and been a good communicator to people of all age groups.
