I have earned a BA and an MA, both in Physics with a focus on education, but opted to take all of my electives in Math and Earth Science, which has enabled me to have a further reaching range of abilities. I did a minor in history for the purpose of understanding not only the science of my work, but also where the science came from. This has enabled me to not just teach science and math but also teach it through a historical lens that gives students perspective on why their learning is relevant. I view teaching as integral to my life, and I am passionate about giving an exceptional education to people. I currently teach academic writing at Tompkins Cortland Community College, and Purchase College. In addition, I have over 15 years experience teaching acting to children, teens and young adults. My goal is to instill habits and skill sets in my students that change learning from a laborious, anxiety ridden process to a spontaneous and empowering one.
