A Little Bit About Me...

I find it rewarding to teach children and adults the necessary skills that allow them to obtain full English literacy. One of the greatest accomplishments in the course of the educational process is the acquisition of full, quality literacy; it is the foundation. Consequently, I prefer a step-by-step, pragmatic method of teaching English language skills: phonics, words, syllables, consonants, verbs, sentences, punctuation, grammar, etc.
As a long-term adjunct instructor, I have successfully cultivated an effective set of best teaching practices relative to the English language and Communications. I am currently enrolled in the Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Northeastern State University (NSU). In the program we are getting hands on training with one on one therapy/tutoring with students/clients in reading, grammar, phonics, and language skills. While in graduate school, I have written very many research papers and essays.
I believe one on one tutoring is very helpful to all children. Many children are behind in school because they are not getting the attention they need. I love to teach and work with children. That is why I am entering the field of Speech Language Pathology.

After obtaining a list of objectives, I like to offer a pop quiz to set a baseline. Thereafter, topics are divided in number of days available for preparation. Most important topics and topics not well understood get time and individualized priority. Offer a challenge test at the end. Harder than the test students will face but no so hard as to lower self steem.
