Elementary Tutor

I have been a tutor at a local elementary school where my students were very successful. Literature is one of my top subjects! I am NYS certified in Literacy (grades 5-12) and English (grades 7-12), although I have several years of experience with children as young as Kindergarten.

I encourage students to bring reading materials that peek their interest to help them enjoy while learning. For some students that would be fiction, for others it's a game manual. The idea is to start where the child's curiosity lays and move from there into the required readings. For older students there are clear step-by-step ways to understand how to analyze text, come up with a thesis and how to write a focused essay.
