Hello, all. My name is Stacie. I have over 10 years of experience in Education. I started my career at Sylvan Learning Center. I began as a Program Manager, but also have experience as the Director of Education. My job duties included giving students Diagnostic Assessments, updating each student notebook, tutoring math, reading and writing in the evenings, attending ongoing trainings, contributing to teacher trainings, and meeting with both parents and teachers at schools. At Adult Basic and Literature Education, I serve as a math and grammar tutor in the GED and ESOL programs. Also, I assist the students on how to obtain basic computer techniques so that they can operate the computer. I am able to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and read French. As for my technical, web designing, and software knowledge, I have a background in computer troubleshooting, Adobe Photoshop, HMTL, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etcetera. For five years, I was a substitute teacher for grades K-5 in English as a Second Language, Special Education and Art classes. I used my communication skills to converse with and to translate Spanish/English language. I have a great joy in teaching student new skills and information and love to see how they catch on, in other words, have that light bulb moment.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : As an internal auditor I have learned how to mine data using excel. Filtering data, pivot tables, writing formulas using left, , PV, FV, PMT, right, mid, find, vlookup, trim, if, sumif and consolidate.

I want my students to be able to make sense out of concepts. Once they relate to the topic the fundimentals of working with the concepts is more realistic. I general guide the student to help them develope the concepts.
I stated my career as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in Oberlin Ohio. I taught two years at Beachwood High School, teaching algebra, geometry, physics and calculus. I went back to school to receive my masters in accounting. I work for a large public accounting firm and received by CPA license. From public accounting I started my internal audit career. I consulted many different companies in a variety of industries. I became a Certified Internal Auditor and became president of the local chapter.
