A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University in 2008, and has equipped me with the knowledge of many applications of biological and physical sciences. I worked in a research lab in college and was responsible for training new students. In addition I acted as the supervisor of the laboratory for a group of high school interns, working to advise them on their research projects and educate them on basic laboratory protocols. After graduation, I accepted a job where I acted as a laboratory manager, directly training new staff laboratory techniques. I developed professional writing and presenting skills of data, and have had some of my research professionally published.

After graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry, I spent an entire school year teaching Advanced Biology and Introduction to Chemistry classes at Eaton Rapids High School. I was in charge of the full scope of teacher responsibilities, including curriculum planning, lesson planning, instruction, demonstrations, laboratories, grading, parent teacher conferences and IEP meetings. I received a Provisional certificate for secondary education, which is for grades 6-12 in biology, chemistry and general science. In addition, I have over 175 hours of tutoring and teaching experience with all of the combined opportunities from Michigan State's extensive teacher preparation opportunities in the local communities.
