I received my BS degree with the intent of gaining a MA in teaching. While I was obtaining my MA, I performed as a substitute teacher in several school districts. I had access to 2 long-term teaching positions. The first was for high school special education in history and the second was for 8th grade language arts. I did teach 1 full year as an intervention specialist for a junior high. The first thing that I like to do as a teacher is tell my students why I chose my profession. However, it is a subject that builds upon itself, so if you understand the big picture of a given topic in biology, it’s easier to expand from there.
