I have a BA in Microbiology and an MA in Zoology. I have 7-8 years experience teaching biology, ecology, microbiology and environmental science at the college level. In addition I have many years experience in software engineering, technical writing, software quality assurance, and technical editing.
In the classroom I rely on traditional lecture, supplemented by Powerpoint presentations, animations, and lists and diagrams on the white board. I usually assign a research paper. A Little Bit About Me...

As a practicing librarian and archivist I have spent ten years helping children and adults navigate library resources and conduct research in various fields including Old English, Spanish, Latin literature, Business, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and the History of Science. As an undergraduate I studied English literature where I developed my writing and grammar skills and complemented that work with study of Latin Literature (I received a minor in this field). Studying Latin improved my vocabulary and comprehension of the structure of language.

For the last four years I have been at Cardigan Mountain School, where I taught English, Latin, Homeric Greek, ESL, and Ancient History. I collaborated with the English Dept., providing, via Power Point Lecture Presentations, the historical background to Tennyson’s epic account of the Light Brigade at Balaklava and Shakespeare’s Henry V, and, as part of the eight grade history seminar, I delivered a forty-minute lecture on Hitler and the Holocaust.
