I have a peer tutoring teaching style. My goal is for the tutee to achieve success both independently and through his or her communication with others. For this to develop, I focus my efforts toward empathy and proceed to learn with the tutee. I have the knowledge to challenge the tutee with advanced objectives, and I have the responsiveness necessary to know the best time to present new challenges. Through this tutee-centered scaffolding approach, my peer tutees have achieved great success in writing, and many have become writing tutors themselves. I have a BS in Psychology, and I have experience tutoring college students through an honors position as a Writing Fellow through Jackson Community College. Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience.
