I have worked at a Montessori preschool and am comfortable using hands-on, creative methods for learning. Each student is different and learning approaches need to reflect that. I have worked with sensory-sensitive preschoolers, mentally challenged high school students, and ESL students ranging in age from 3 to 40. Whether they needed to learn how to tie their shoes, write an essay, the parts of an atom, how to use a conjunction, why the slope of a line is important, or how to write their name, I was there to help.

I am a graduate of both the University of Colorado and Adams State College. I hold a Master's degree in Secondary Education as well as a Initial Teacher's license. I have experience as a volunteer tutor in social studies and math, a paid tutor in reading, a student teacher, and as a substitute for the last year and a half. I also have experience as a mentor to young people through the YMCA.
My teaching style revolves around the specific learning needs of students because each person not only learns differently but has specific strengths and weakness. As teachers it is our job to meet the needs of all learners. I do not believe in presently material in one way, or one way all the time.
