Science made easy through illustrations

As a teacher, I aim to perpetuate knowledge and inspire learning. More specifically, as a biologist I present the material with enthusiasm and point to its relevance in everyday life. Students respond better to learning something that impacts their lives rather than random facts. While teaching general biology, I noticed that several students would come into class assuming that they were unable to learn anything scientific. Students get overwhelmed with scientific jargon and spend too much time trying to memorize facts rather than learning processes. A Little Bit About Me...

I have just about ten years teaching grades pre-k through eight grade. I took the requirements to obtain a teaching minor and certification, except the student teaching and the test because I decided to switch gears and go to law school. I am experienced in both the Michigan Grade Level Expectations as well as the Michigan's Adaptation of the Common Core Curriculum. I have taught students who are both intellectually advanced as well as those who experience challenges with learning and have had great success with both. When I decided to go to law school, I worked full time as a teacher and excelled in law school graduating in the top 15% of my class. I also had success in raising standardized testing scores for the majority of students in my 5th grade classroom.
