Teaching has been something I have done a great deal of my life no matter what path I was on. When I was in nursing school, patient teaching was a strong point of mine. I love children. I am patient, kind and believe in utilizing intrinsic and extrinsic forms of lessons so that children develop a love of learning and see the short term rewards and long term rewards.My goal is to help a student succeed.
I am currently heading for a BS in Elementary Education while I am home schooling my children. I have home school grades 6-11. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor degree in History with a minor in Sociology. I also took many English, Government, Geography, Literature, and Spanish classes in college. I learned grammar and puncuation skills from the many research papers and essays, as well as research skills needed for those projects. I was a long-term substitute for fifth grade social studies this spring and in addition I have substituted for 2 months.

I typically use one series of method books, but sometimes choose other repertoire outside of the curriculum in order to best teach the student in the area that they need. I have had students with Asperger's syndrome (a form of autism) and dyslexia.I have also taught all age groups, ranging from 4 years to 65 years.
