I was not a formal tutor, but I spent a lot of time with junior classmates helping them to understand their projects and meet their deadlines. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While earning this degree I was given the opportunity to gain experience in working in various classrooms at many different grade levels. I feel most confident in my teaching skills when working one-on-one with students or in small groups. My age areas of expertise are Kindergarten-6th grade.

This is a highly interactive style which leads the student to uncover the answer themselves as opposed to the teacher simply reciting the answer to them. Guided Discovery requires the student to learn by doing therefore developing necessary problem solving and deductive skills that will make them better learners and thinkers both now and in the future. I implement this style by asking leading questions, giving examples, making analagies and asking the student what they think or ask them to explain how they came upon a certain conclusion. Children are amazing! I have been around children of all ages for most of my life due to a large family. Every child has an opportunity to be the next Albert Einstein however I feel that it is the lack of understanding on the teachers behalf on how to teach to the different needs of the children that keeps the children from learning all that they could.
