I have been substituting for the last 10 years at different K-12 schools in the area. I have spent my spare time coaching baseball and football at both East Nicolaus and Wheatland High School. This is a highly interactive style which leads the student to uncover the answer themselves as opposed to the teacher simply reciting the answer to them. Guided Discovery requires the student to learn by doing therefore developing necessary problem solving and deductive skills that will make them better learners and thinkers both now and in the future. I implement this style by asking leading questions, giving examples, making analagies and asking the student what they think or ask them to explain how they came upon a certain conclusion. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a bachelors degree (BS in Biology) and I have excelled in my classes. I have taken 2 semesters of both general chemistry and organic chemistry. After performing at a high level in these courses, I ended up tutoring students in organic chemistry for about 2 semesters. Since I am currently studying for the MCAT exam (Medical College Admissions Test) my organic chemistry knowledge is fresh.

As the school I taught at was private, the students were very competitive. I found my lectures and class activities reached 90% of the students. The remaining 10% were the students I especially loved to instruct. These students had difficulty learning the subject in a traditional fashion, so I was forced to explain the subject from a different angle.
