A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent the better part of the past 12 years teaching grammar, creative writing, literature, and basic English structure. I have my BFA in Creative Writing and my BA in English from Arkansas Tech University, and I have my MA in English from Highlands University. I have taught all levels of college composition, creative writing, and American Lit. Also, I have taught English at the high school level. Also, I have a minor in American History.
I believe in personal interaction with students – making them write, making them read – going over every detail, looking at the issues (grammar, punctuation, syntax, coherent structure (logic, unity, transitions, parallelism,)) and then re-writing and re-reading. As a graduate of Alcorn State University, I have become very resourceful, which helps me to point others in the right direction. In civil, volunteer, and academic work, I have gained experience in team leadership, excellent written and verbal skills, and youth education. I was awarded the opportunity to work with small groups of elementary and high school students, as well as one-on-one with my peers. I have also completed numerous research papers, which acquainted me with different styles of literature review and writing.
