Spanish is my first language. For three years I took Spanish spelling and grammar in Key Learning Community School. During those three years I volunteer to tutor high school students with their Spanish work, and (English Second Language) elementary students with their English. I currently work as a Sunday-School teacher and the secretary of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida in Indianapolis, Indiana. Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida is an ALL Spanish speaking church. As of now, the only classes I am taking are Criminology 105 and Political Science 101 in Ivy tech Community College. Last school semester I took Public Speaking 101, English 111 and Economics 101. I teach according to the necessity of the student or the students,Depending on whether it is one on one situation or a group of people.I realize that in the case of a group or class that not every student is going to learn at the same rate and that not every student has the confidence to speak up.
I was lucky enough to grow up speaking both English and Spanish at home and in schools and social gatherings of Latinos in Mexico. I lived in Mexico for 34 years before going to live in England. I have schooled Latinos in Mexico, England, Canada and the U.S. I owned a Latino employment agency in Indianapolis which I managed for 10 ten years. The vast majority of the workers did not read, write or understood very little English.

I'm currently a second semester junior in class standing in a double major of Psychology and Spanish Bachelor in Arts. In addition, I have completed a teaching program on Portage Middle School, which required me not only to teach middle school eight graders in an immersion school, but also translate materials written in English to the Spanish language, and then present this information to the Middle School kids. I've also done medical interpretations for the Spanish speaking community in Fort Wayne, Indiana at St. Joseph Church for flu Shots.
