Writing Skills is one of my top subjects!

I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, from elementary school through junior college. As a parent volunteer, I tutored K-6 students in math and reading. As a Learning Center and Basic Skills instructor at Trinidad State Junior College, I taught classes in math and English, and I worked individually with students on a variety of subjects including study skills, spelling, history, math, and English. For the past several years, I have owned a small business that employed teenagers. I both developed and administered the training for these first-time employees. Taking the fear out of testing, one session at a time

Currently I am tutoring Biology (among other sciences) as well as English at Pueblo Community College. I have been there for close to a half of a year at this point. I also have a 15 year old son who is in the IB program at Palmer. He does very well in school, I like to attribute that partially to my skills. My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : I was recommended for tutoring English in college and though I never became an official tutor for the university I found myself helping people with their writing. I particularly enjoy creative writing and even had a very small piece of mine published in a friends book.

I do my best to lead the student to an answer or solution rather than telling them what to do. I do my best to find out the students learning style and adapt to his or her needs
Very ealry on in college my English professor recommended me for tutoring English. I am not an expert, but I found I was good at helping people with their writing.I also tutored beginner Russian students while I was studying at UVM. I also helped my Russian professor correct homework and tests. outside of school, I have a good year of experience substitute teaching and was often recommended for one-on-one assignments.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently attending Air Academy High School as a senior. My expected date of graduation is May 17, 2012. I am studying multiple core classes but take a special interest in English. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy sharing knowledge of science with people of all ages. Many people find science to be intimidating, but I believe that once a person gets past the vocabulary barrier, the concepts of science are less overwhelming. A Little Bit About Me...

A Little Bit About Me...
