16 years dancing at Donna Scott School of Dance taking tap, jazz, ballet and lyrical. Accomplished many award winning performances for all styles at local and NYC competitions. I have performed in 13 musicals in 6 years, Dance Captain for 5 of those musicals, have taught multiple cast members tap dancing. I am also a proficient fine artist. I genuinely enjoy helping all people, be it in the workplace or in the academic atmosphere. My teaching style is similar to my communication style - friendly and driven. When I sit down with a tutee, my goal is to guide them without giving the answers away. It is important for students to reach the sense of satisfaction that one gets when he or she solves a problem or overcomes an obstacle on their own. In 2005 I graduated from Fredonia University with childhood education including a middle school extension in English. I completed my master's degree in Special Education from Medaille University in 2008. I hold a New York Certification in Childhood Education as well as English through grade 9. I have worked in many educational levels throughout the elementary and middle school. I spent 3 years as a teacher's aide in a pre-school setting. I spent a year as the academic intervention specialist in a elementary school. I have also spent 2 years as a general education teacher in the first grade. I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I have since taught preschool and substitute taught for several years. I also worked at a theraputic staff support worker for behavorial children. I have a rich understanding of children on all ages and a intense background in all teaching areas.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an Honor roll student, a student on the Dean's list I was lucky to have graduated early. I taught six graders through opelia. I have also tutored a master's Student through her Statistics. Currently tutoring a student via online on her Senior Algebra for her Liberal Arts degree. I will hold a BA degree come december of 2010. Where I then plan to student teach and obtain a teaching certification.
I use all the main teaching tools. Both hands on and visually for those students who need different tools. I love to interact with children and adults helping them through their classes to better their future. I also enjoy having a hand in their future success. I truely believe that a great teacher is one who teaches for the greater growth of their pupils and personally I strive to help them succeed.
