As one of only 60 graduates in the Biochemistry&Molecular Biophysics program, I have extensive training in mathematics, physical/organic chemistry, and biophysics. My double major in Molecular&Cellular Biology couples biological systems and human physiology with the "harder" physical/chemical sciences. With over 5 years experience as a Medical Dosimetrist, I have only recently turned to more creative pursuits. I tutored math in college for 3 years, mainly algebra and trigonometry. I received a BS in Mathematics with a secondary education certificate. I was a substitute math teacher for seventh and eighth grade pre-algebra classes for 10 weeks. Afterwards, I had various jobs in finance. During the last eight years I have tutored my children in math (kindergarten to seventh grade). I have also tutored a middle school student in pre-algebra and a young adult in basic math related to welding. Currently I am a woodworker and co-owner of a custom woodworking business.

Although I have graduated, I still see myself as a student still learning. I take that with me when I teach fellow students. I try to make it an experience where we are all learning something together. This prevents me from just telling someone what to learn, instead it shows someone how to learn. During my years in high school I struggled. At one point my GPA fell below a 2.0.
