I am very patient and take my time explaining things. I like to make sure that my students understand something well before moving on. I find it important that they know the basic concepts before attempting to master the subject. I like to teach using a whiteboard or chalkboard, if possible, allowing the students to interact and work problems until the material is understood.

My two and half years of teaching math and physics in high school as well as 8 years of college teaching taught me a great deal about encouraging learning. I always attempt to explain the beauty of mathematics to my students in hopes that they will develop the same admiration of the logic and order of mathematics and science. My tutoring will generally involve a brief explanation of theory and background, followed by one or two fully worked examples (if applicable). Then exercise problems or homework questions will be worked by the student. I encourage students to memorize the procedure of a solution. However, I always ensure that the student understands why steps are being taken in a given solution, and is not simply blindly following a solution procedure.
