I try to highlight a students strengths and build solid study habits and work patterns. For instance, if a student has trouble focusing on his/her work, I try to push them for short periods of intense study, and then reward them with a break. Since my first degree was completed through an integrated, online program, I stress organizational skills. If I feel that a student is having an issue with organization, I explain to them how much it helps me to organize and then we address the issues they might be having.

A Little Bit About Me...

While I am not a teacher by profession, I spent much time in the academic support center at SUNY Cobleskill as a freshman tutoring students in different kinds of math. (ie: algebra,fractions, etc) and occasionally in english and science. I also had to lead several class discussions at grad school at times, teaching the readings or materials for that week. This included presentations and answering questions from the audience. However, my main interest would be in math or english (ie: reading and writing) because over the years I have found these to be invaluable tools.
