I have earned a Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering and Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant during my Master's for the course CEE 372: Transportation Engineering. I think it takes a lot for one teacher to reach all of types of students who are all at different levels of interest in the subject being taught as well as at different levels of understanding. However, I feel it is the teacher's responsibility to give them all equal opportunity to learn. It is not just about grades and assignments, that is just the means to an end, but it is about learning.
