My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching. It consists of lecture notes, handouts, exams and quizes and games such as Jeopardy. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and grow as individuals. It is my job as the teacher to make learning both enjoyable and educational. My main goal in education is to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach. I have been involved with education for roughly the past five years, spending 2 as a substitute teacher, 2.5 as a Middle and High School Social Studies teacher and 0.5 as an Adult Education Instructor. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College. Classes I have taught include United State History, World History, World Geography and Law & Justice.

I am a graduate of a highly prestigious teaching university: Morehead State University. I have earned two bachelor degrees in education. I have my p-5 degree in every subject and my k-12 special education degree in learning and behavior disorders. I have worked with all ages and am knowledgeable in my field of work. My previous job was at the number 1 school in KY: May Valley Elementary. I am a structured teacher and a lover of knowledge. I believe that all children learn in different ways and at different speeds. I am a firm believer in holding students accountable and expecting great outcomes from them. I know that I make a difference in my students' lives because I make learning enjoyable and meaningful to them.

I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community. Each person learns at an individual pace. I use the Gardner system of multiple intelligences to facilitate individual learning style. I do not believe something is impossible to learn, or unteachable. Patience is a moral and ethic rule with my personal professional style.

Range

I am seeking my teaching certificate and will receive it by the end of the next semester if not before. My strong suit has always been reading, spelling and phonics and was NC state spelling bee champion. Motivational, easy going, encouraging , never critical. I love working with children and I enjoy seeing their light bulb come on. Every child has potential.Every child should have a teacher or parent who is encouraging.
